D-Link introduces wireless media streamer

The new device allows you to stream media from your smartphone to the television

D-Link recently unveiled the DSM-260, a wireless media streamer which can wirelessly stream media content from your smartphone directly to the television. The streaming device can connect to your smartphone wirelessly and stream media content, be it video or music, to any television, projector or home theatre. The device not only supports smartphones, but can also be used with tablet, PCs and laptops.

The device is aimed towards home and small-office users, which makes it convenient to display audio-video content to a large audience. One can highly benefit from the device which eliminates the need of wires to interconnect the two devices. Additionally, you can also move further away from the device which was previously limited due to the length of the wired connections.

All one needs to do is install an app or the related software on the smartphone / tablet or laptop / PC respectively and locate the streamer using the wireless network. Once connected, you can stream your media content with ease.

The DSM-260 features an HDMI port for TVs, Receivers and projectors and a 3.5-mm A/V out jack for regular CRT TVs and LCDs which don’t feature HDMI. The device is powered by just 5V and the onboard micro USB port can be used to power the device via any device’s standard USB port or USB charger.
