Modi tears into SP, ignores AAP

Narendra Modi mounted an attack on the Samajwadi Party, but chose to avoid any direct criticism of the Bahujan Samaj Party

Lucknow: BJP’s Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, on Sunday, mounted a blistering attack on the Samajwadi Party, but chose to avoid any direct criticism of the Bahujan Samaj Party. He did not make even a mention of the Aam Aadmi Party in his speech.

Addressing a mammoth ‘Vijay Shankhanad Rally’ in Lucknow on Sunday, Mr Modi said that that the wave in favor of the BJP would turn into a tsunami very soon and he would soon take over as a ‘watchman; in Delhi.

“I will make sure that no ‘hand’ reaches the treasure vault in Delhi. No one — whether he comes on an ‘elephant’ or a cycle’ — will be allowed to touch the treasure vault,” he said.
Mr Modi also said that the strains of music had been replaced with the booms of guns in Lucknow and ‘tehzeeb’ (etiquette) had been replaced with ‘tehbazaari’ (lack of culture).

Responding to SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav’s rally held earlier in the day in Allahabad, the BJP’s PM candidate said that the SP leader had already accepted defeat when he asked people not to compare the size of SP and BJP rallies. “I am happy that he has agreed to the politics of development but he is also spreading canard about development in Gujarat. Does he know that in Gujarat people get electricity round the clock and round the year? Instead of criticizing Gujarat, he should do a reality check on UP,” he stated.

Addressing Mr Yadav directly, Mr Modi said, “Netaji, you are not bothered about development but want to create scare of secularism. There have been 150 cases of riots in UP in the past one year, but none in Gujarat in the past ten years And you are asking us to explain our actions?”
