Asauddin Owaisi dares Modi for a contest in Hyderabad

Asaduddin Owaisi said that Mr Modi’s popularity was nothing but hype created by the Sangh Parivar
Hyderabad: MIM MP Asaduddin Owaisi on Sunday challenged his party’s opponents to field BJP’s PM candidate Narendra Modi from the Hyderabad Lok Sabha seat in the upcoming general elections.
Speaking at the 56th anniversary of MIM’s revival, Mr Owaisi said that he would tour the entire country campai-gning against Mr Modi.
He said that Mr Modi’s popularity was nothing but hype created by the Sangh Parivar and added that if Mr Modi was confident about his popularity, he should contest and win from Hyderabad. He claimed that the MIM was unbeatable in Hyderabad and no political party had a candidate to contest against it.
He also appealed to Muslims to unite to defeat the communal forces and asked the MIM cadres to ensure optimum use of social media to ensure 80 per cent polling in the next elections. “The MIM will also have representations in Seemandhra, Maharashtra, UP and Karnataka,” he said.
Meanwhile, Mr Owaisi said he had opposed giving the power of law and order to the Governor. “The Telangana CM will have power only in eight districts as the GHMC will be under the Governor’s control,” he said, adding, “A person loyal to the ruling party will be made Governor. If the BJP comes to power, what will happen to the Muslim minorities? Governor’s rule is unconstitutional and we will challenge it in the Supreme Court.”
“There is a power breakdown in Hyderabad for six hours and there will be a special power project for Hyderabad to supply uninterrupted electricity. Pranahita Chevella should be given national status and Hyderabad should be provided drinking water from it,” he said.
