R….Rajkumar was my original script: Prabhu Deva
Things can’t get better than this for Prabhu Deva, the choreographer turned actor who is now a bankable filmmaker in Bollywood.
He has reason to rejoice. The Library of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has chosen the script of B’town film R…Rajkumar, the Shahid Kapoor and Sonakshi Sinha starrer directed by Prabhu Deva, to make it accessible to students, film makers, writers, actors and others from the field of cinema for the purpose of research.
While the screenplay has been credited to Prabhu, Sunil Agarwal and Ravi S. Sundaram, dialogues were penned by Shiraz Ahmed.
Confirming the news to DC, Prabhu who is shooting in Bangkok for his upcoming film with Ajay Devgan, said, "I was thrilled when I came to know that the esteemed Oscar Library approached my producer, Viki Rajani, for R….Rajkumar’s script. It’s a huge honour and heartwarming recognition. All my earlier three Hindi films were remakes.
"R….Rajkumar is my original script." Deva also gave a few working stills with Devgan from his upcoming flick, Action Jackson. Some of the earlier B’town movies which made it to the Oscar Library include, Lagaan, Chak De India, Devdas and Rajneeti. The controversial flick, Dam 999, happens to be the first Indian film to be included in this library even before its theatrical release.
