Reliance Communications announces association with World T20
Bangalore: Reliance Communications Limited, a leading telecom service provider, on Saturday announced their association as global partner for the fifth edition of ICC World Twenty20 tournament, to be held in Bangladesh from March 16 to April 6.
"We at Reliance understand the passion for cricket that binds cricket enthusiasts across the globe and would like to enhance our customers’ experience through exclusive mobile content," RCOM President and CEO (Wireless Business) Gurdeep Singh said.
The event marked the beginning of the RCOM’s Trophy Preview across India before the tournament kicks off in Bangladesh, Singh said. The coveted trophy is designed and created by Links of London and is made of silver and rhodium and weighing approximately 7.5 kg, Singh said.
The Logo for the ICC World T20 is inspired by the unique painted rickshaws (tuk-tuks) which pack the streets of Bangladesh cities, he said. The logo, designed by Whitekite in Australia, uses the colours of Bangladesh flag with splashes of blue which represents Bangladesh?s iconic waterways.
"The T is made up of cricket stumps and the 0 in the T20 represents the cricket ball complete with Bangladeshi green seam, while the white in the design lends and energetic, friendly and youthful feel to the logo," Singh said.
