Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala State Women's Development Corporation (KSWDC) has planned to open a 24x7 women help-desk. This initiative aims at ensuring women’s safety during late hours, looking forward towards accommodating at least 50 women at a time.
‘It is also a part of a host of pro-women programmes, being launched in the state to ensure the safety and security of women,’ said a KSWDC official.
"The city police has offered to ensure the service of a woman officer. A common number will be announced which will help the needy women to contact the officer on duty," said Asha, a project co-ordinator of KSWDC.
‘Arrangements are also being made to provide pick up and drop sevice to the accommodation centre during the late night hours,” tinted Asha.
