Inspiring success
Despite ticket prices reaching an eye watering Rs. 25,000, Robin Sharma’s first-ever Hyderabad tour could be described as a success, with nearly 400 people turning up at his seminar, Lead Without A Title, on Friday.
The list of Hyderabadis present also included Cyberabad top cop C.V. Anand and Hyderabad Metro MD V.B. Gadgil.
The seminar primarily revolved around how a leader does not need a title, and doesn’t have to be the managing director, general manager or a CEO of a company to show his or her leadership abilities, because ‘leadership is an approach to life and not a title’.
The motivational speaker started the seminar with this message, “Never let your success get to you”.
He also shared with the crowd, his “66-day” mantra to ‘change our lives’, where he said that it takes a total of 66 days of practise to inculcate a new habit or implement a resolution. Sharing a little snippet from the life of the late Apple founder, Steve Jobs, Robin said: “One day Steve’s dad asked him to paint the fences of his house and he just painted it outside because he thought nobody would see it from inside. That’s when his dad said, ‘but we will’. So when Jobs was creating a computer, he wanted his designing team to make it beautiful from the inside.”
Talking points:
1. You must be willing to ask yourself how only five per cent of people think: If you look at Mark Zuckerberg and Steve Jobs, they had a vision that nobody else perceived. The world thought their ideas were crazy but they saw a future in them.
2. Surround yourself with good people: If you surround yourself with great people, then their beliefs and goals will start to influence your beliefs and goals.
4. Push your limits and pursue opportunities others are afraid to take up.
5. Failure is greatness waiting to happen. Stay true to your vision even when you are ridiculed.
