Mohanty asks MHA to work with state committees


Hyderabad: Chief secretary P.K. Mohanty on Wednesday asked the Centre to closely work with the state officials in completing the complex exercise of actual division of the state.
The chief secretary participated in an interministerial meeting, held by the Ministry of Home Affairs, to prepare a road map for distribution of assets and liabilities, allotment of cadre to both All India Services officers, state government employees and other formalities.
Maintaining that the Centre relied more on its official committees in preparing the draft division Bill, the chief secretary suggested that the official committees to be set up by the Centre should work in coordination with the committees already constituted by the state government. He is believed to have pointed out that it should be the joint responsibility of the central and state governments to ensure hassle free division.
Sources said that Mr Mohanty explained to the Centre the initiatives taken by him for smooth process including setting up an apex committee and 15 sub committees. They will cover issues relating to employees, revenue, health, state level public enterprises, state assets and finance.
The inter-ministerial meeting was attended by secretaries of several departme-nts,.
including Department of Personnel and Training, po-wer, petroleum and finance.
