AAP releases second list, launches Rajmohan Gandhi
New Delhi: The Aam Admi Party has announced its second list of 30 candidates for the Lok Sabha polls. The most-known face in that list is that of Mahatma Gandhi’s grandson Rajmohan Gandhi who will contest from East Delhi.
A noted RTI activist of Jammu and Kashmir too will fight elections from Sringar, represented by Farooq Abdullah. AAP has fielded one Bhagwat Singh from Vidhisha, the Lok Sabha seat of Sushma Swaraj.
The first list had named Kumar Vishwas, social activist Medha Patkar, TV journalist-turned-politician Ashutosh, former scribe Mukul Tripathi, Advocate H S Phoolka, activist Hardev Singh, former CEO and Chairperson of RBS India Meera Sanyal, activist Anjali Damania and peasant leader Somendra Dhaka. They will be stalking all the big names in both the Congress and the BJP.
Meanwhile, senior AAP leader Manish Sisodia on Thursday hit out at BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, saying he should ensure that businessmen and common people are not seen as "thieves" in BJP-ruled states.
"Narendra Modi should also ensure that BJP governments and officers change the way they function. In BJP ruled states, private businessmen are seen as
thieves. We do not see a different picture in these states from rest of the country," Sisodia told reporters on the sidelines of a CII function here today.
Expressing confidence of forming government once again in Delhi, Sisodia said all people-friendly initiatives would be re-launched by the AAP government.
Sisodia said the AAP government could not function properly with Congress and BJP joining hands to block all government initiatives.
"There is no doubt had we been in the government, we would have taken many other initiatives. But all those initiatives need to be passed through Vidhan Sabha,” he said.
