Centre set to bring ordinance on two anti-graft legislations
The SC/ST Amendment Bill and the Rights of Persons with Disability Bill and Security Laws (Amendment) Bill are also expected
New Delhi: With Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi pitching for setting up a holistic anti-graft framework, the Centre appears to be gearing up to bring ordinances on two anti-corruption Bills along with three other legislations, which could not be passed during the just concluded Parliament session.
Sources said ordinances were ready on the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Bill and the Right of Citizens for Time Bound Delivery of Goods and Services and Redressal of their Grievances Bill.
Sources said the ordinances could be brought before the Union Cabinet this week. A meeting of the Union Cabinet is scheduled for Friday, and neither of the ordinances is on the agenda which was circulated on Tuesday. But since these are among the anti-corruption Bills being pushed by Mr Gandhi, they could be added on later.
These legislations couldn’t be passed during the extended Winter Session. The SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Amendment Bill and the Rights of Persons with Disability Bill and Security Laws (Amendment) Bill are also expected to be brought before the Cabinet.
