Indian film industry making waves across the globe
We have seen and heard enough that Bollywood is one of the biggest film industries in the world and produces movies worth millions of crores. But what’s making news is that, this industry is making waves across the world. Here’s proof. IIFA or the ‘Bollywood Oscars’ as it is being called now, is scheduled to happen at Tampa Bay, Florida soon. And the tickets sell for close to a whopping $3,000 per person, not to mention the seats are vanishing like hotcakes. While we believe $3,000 for a weekend is a bit overpriced, the IIFA’s nominee list promises the presence of the best stars and going with the Indian cinema craze, tickets getting sold out too soon would not come as a surprise.
To begin with, the awards weekend will have a roundup of fashion, music and more films. It will have film workshops and Priyanka Chopra and Anil Kapoor have already begun doing their bit for the pre-event conferences. The scintillating show will see celebrities having a gala time and with Shahid Kapoor and Farhan Akhtar set to host the evening, it is expected to be an intellectual presentation with a Gandi baat twist. From Shah Rukh Khan, Madhuri Dixit to Hrithik Roshan, the names of stars, who will be present at the glitzy affair, seem to get bigger and better. Maybe that’s why the Indian diaspora is willing to break the bank to watch them live.
