They’re considered among the finest actors to emerge out of the Indian film industry. So when Naseeruddin Shah called Shabana Azmi "his favourite actress to work with", we were all curious to know more! Naseer and Shabana were sharing the stage at a recent award ceremony, where Shabana’s mother, noted theatre personality Shaukat Kaifi Azmi, was being felicitated. The moment Naseer uttered his words of praise, Shabana shouted out, "Record this! I’ve complimented him so liberally all these years, but this is the first time he has said this!" An abashed Naseer replied, "I would have said something but I don’t have (your husband) Javed saab’s penchant for words."
Even as Shabana smiled, Naseer continued, "Though, having worked with your mother, Shaukat apa, I have to say, she is my favourite actress!"
