Hyderabad:Telangana Congress leaders including Union and state ministers and MPs who returned from Delhi on Sunday, got a grand reception at the Shamshabad airport.Party workers under the leadership of former minister Shabbir Ali and minister Danam Nagendar organised the rally.
Telangana Congress leaders were taken in a procession from the airport to Gun Park, opposite the Assembly.They paid tributes to Telangana martyrs. Addressing party workers at Gandhi Bhavan, the Congress leaders credited AICC president Sonia Gandhi for the creation of the new state. They said without her, there would not have been a T state. They decided that they must win as many seats as possible in the region and give it as a gift to Mrs Gandhi.
Mr Shabbir Ali called Mrs Gandhi the Mother of Telangana. Union minister S. Satyanarayana, state ministers K. Jana Reddy, J. Geetha Reddy, Sunita Laxma Reddy, D.K. Aruna, P. Sudarshan Reddy, MPs Palvai Govardhan Reddy, V. Hanumantha Rao, Ponnam Prabhakar, Madhu Yashki and others arrived on Sunday. On coming out of the airport, they kissed the soil. Earlier, Telangana leaders and DCC presidents of T districts met PCC president Botsa Satyanarayana and discussed the possibilities of organising meetings in Telangana to thank Mrs Gandhi for granting Telangana state.
Shabbier Ali said that they would organize victory and thanksgiving meetings all over the Telangana region from Tuesday. He said Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi would visit Hyderabad in the first week of March and they are likely to address a massive public meeting being planned at Parade Grounds.
Mean while Telangana congress leaders replaced the Picture of Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy with union Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad at Gandhi Bhavan state party headquarters. Telangana congress leaders and workers removed several photo graphs of Kiran Kumar Reddy where ever possible in Gandhi Bhavan and as well as en route the rally that they took out from Shamshabad airport to Gun Park.
Mean while former PCC President D Srinivas speaking to media accused TDP Chief Chandrababu Naidu for trying to take false credit for the formation of Telangana state.
He said Chandrababu created several obstacles in the formation of Telangana state.
