TV’s funny man to B-town hero
Comedian Kapil Sharma is ready to take his career to the next level with his upcoming film Bank Chor. But will he be as popular on the silver screen as he is in television? After all, not many TV stars have been successful in films.
Kapil clarifies, “I shouldn’t be compared to anyone. I have wit and I am talented. I totally agree that television and films are very different from each other. Before I signed Bank Chor, I had got offers for more than 12 movies, but I only chose this as I thought I could justify the role.”
“The production house auditioned me three times before I was finalised, now it’s my turn to prove my calibre. I will undergo a lot of workshop sessions before I begin shooting for the film,” he adds.
There have also been a lot of comparisons made between him and Sunil Grover of late. About this Kapil says, “His and my shows can’t be compared; and no one can compete with Comedy Nights With Kapil. Each show is different from the other. I would also like to mention that Sunil is my senior and is a great performer. I wish him all the luck.”
