Visakhapatnam:Many students joined the protest as a rally was organised from the Department of Geology up to Gandhi statue near Registrar’s office in which students raised slogans against the state bifurcation. The rally was followed by the students kneeling on the road and raising slogans about the issue after which they walked on their knees till the main gate and then conducted a rasta roko in front of the Andhra University main gate. Lagudu Govindrao, state convener of the JAC, said, “While many ministers from other regions also entered the well in parliament to show their protest, the Speaker singled out MPs from Seemandhra to be punished. We want to prove through this protest that we are with them and hope other parties who are supporting the bifurcation will change their opinion.”
