George Baily won't find a place KXIP XI, Virender Sehwag should lead: Ganguly

Former India captain feels that Aus T20 skipper Geroge Bailey won't fit into the first XI.

Mumbai: Former India captain Sourav Ganguly feels that Australia's T20 captain George Bailey won't fit into the first XI of Kings XI Punjab while recommending Virender Sehwag as the captain of the team.

"Sehwag is the best option to captain Kings XI Punjab and not George Bailey. You have to remember, a captain is the most important factor in a team across all formats.

"Bailey will struggle to find a place in the Kings XI team given that David Miller, Shaun Marsh, Glen Maxwell and Mitchell Johnson have to play every game. You can't drop Marsh as he has been their most consistent performer over the years," Ganguly said in the Star Power today while analyzing teams.

While CSK didn't buy Subramanium Badrinath, Ganguly reckons that he will be bought on Thursday when the unsld players come up for second round.

"I think CSK will buy Badrinath tomorrow," Ganguly said.

Ganguly feels that Corey Anderson's bowling will be helpful on Wankhede track.

"For Mumbai, Corey Anderson has balanced the side. He is an unknown commodity and the Wankhede will support his bowling. Mike Hussey has been bought due to Sachin's retirement. He is the dark horse of the IPL. Mumbai's batting looks a little weak but it's the IPL so you can't say for example Ambati Rayudu became a big success for MI."

Ganguly feels that had Corey Anderson been in the top pile of the auction, he would have commanded greater price.

"IPL auction is all about supply and demand. If Anderson was earlier in the auction pile he would have gone for much more."

On Royal Challengers Bangalore, he said, "Bangalore have a very strong batting line-up. Right from openers to No 6, they have batsman who will ensure it will rain sixes at the Chinnaswamy. If not Gayle, then Kohli, if not Kohli, then De Villiers, if not De Villiers then Yuvraj, if not Yuvi, then Albie Morkel.

"They have good bowlers in Varun Aaron, Dinda, Mitchell Starc as well to give them a balanced line up."
