Ejection of Flappy Bird boosts fears of potential pirates

Removal of the gaming app from App Store and Google Play could cause a piracy whiff.

As we all know that Flappy Bird is a completely free game. Ever since the gaming app is off the online stores, the game if being pulled off from various torrent, P2P and DDL sites.

‘Flappy Bird’ discontinued from App Store and Google Play

While it officially available, it used to generate revenue for the developer by way of advertisements that pop up when you die.

Presently, it is not confirmed as yet, but the pirated versions of Flappy Bird still feature ads. It is not sure if these ads are still linked to Nguyen’s advertising account, or if the pirates have altered the app and embedded them to link it to their accounts.

We assume that Google and Apple would crack down these advertising accounts used by the pirate(s), and that the ads are still paying money to the original developer.
