Thiruvananthapuram: Close on the heels of the centre indicating relaxations on stipulations for commencing international operations by an airline, an Assembly panel has recommended the state government to take steps to make Air Kerala a reality.
Commencing Air Kerala was an ideal solution to the hardships faced by NRKs due to frequent fare hikes and flight cancellations, said the Assembly panel on the welfare of pravasis headed by Abdurahiman Randathani, MLA.
Noisy scenes over reference to Sunanda
Noisy scenes prevailed in the Assembly during the question hour with opposition member James Mathew asking whether there was any probe into the suspected links of ISI agents with the state, making a reference to Sunanda's allegation that Mehr was an ISI agent stalking her husband and Union Minister of state for HRD Shashi Tharoor.
UDF MLAs strongly objected making such a reference in the house. Speaker G Karthikeyan said that the matter could not be raised in the house.
Humanitarian consideration for Madhani
Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala has said that the state will continue to press the Karnataka government to show humanitarian consideration Abdul Nazir Madhani. "Since it is a matter pending with the court and Karnataka police, we have certain limitations in interfering," he said.
