Tollywood star Lakshmi Manchu is wrapping up her US stint and is all set to head back to India. Father Mohan Babu said, “My daughter will be back in India to pursue fresh business interests and her family too is moving back. She wants to settle down in India.”
Lakshmi Manchu has quite a few projects, including several TV shows and films, lined up back here. But what’s of note is her sudden, interest in politics.
Lakshmi Manchu was one of the first from the city to greet BJP’s Narendra Modi during the latter’s visit to Hyderabad and she has also been tweeting and voicing opinions on politics and nation building, often. So, is her India move a major step towards a possible political career? “She has to decide,” says Mohan Babu.
The head of the family is indeed well connected with several names in the system and it will be no surprise for the state if the daughter uses those contacts to establish a position of power regionally.
