The team of 'Main Tera Hero' has much reason to cheer. The Varun Dhawan-starrer’s promo has created a record of sorts by garnering close to two million views within a week of going online.
An industry observer points out, “This is unprecedented even for a film featuring superstars. More than Varun, I think it is his father David Dhawan’s association with the film that has made people sit up and take notice.”
Says Varun, “As a son, I cannot be more proud. I am seeing all this euphoria around the promo first as David Dhawan’s fan, then his son and then as an actor associated with the film. When a film has his name attached to it, it doesn’t matter who the hero is. I was a fan of his brand of cinema even as a child, but now I am getting a better idea of his reach.”
He continues, “Hopefully, the current generation (which hasn’t witnessed the kind of craze that dad’s films used to generate in the 90s) will get to see the range that David Dhawan has. Not that he has to prove himself to anyone, but dad hasn’t been around for the longest time, and it is our chance to see him at his vibrant best.”
