Mothkupally Narasimhulu may quit Telugu Desam over ticket denial
Hyderabad: Sulking Tungaturthi (SC) Telugu Desam MLA Mothkupally Narasimhulu skipped filing of nominations by two party candidates for Rajya Sabha polls, forcing party president N Chandrababu Naidu to send emissaries to pacify him.
Similarly, other aspirants like Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy, K. Ramamohan Rao, and Nandamuri Harikrishna did not turn up when the two party candidates— Garikapati Mohan Rao and Thota Seetha Ramalakshmi — filed their nominations. However, several party MLAs and leaders were present.
Rumours were agog that six times MLA, Narasimhulu may quit the party since it was next to impossible to get a Rajya Sabha ticket soon in the party if the state is bifurcated.
Naidu sent senior party leaders Nama Nageswara Rao, Errabelli Dayakar Rao, Sujana Choudhry to Narasimhulu’s residence in Ameerpet to cajole him and promise a suitable reward in the future. “He is very upset over denial of a ticket. We have urged him not to take any hasty decisions and explained to him the circumstances for denying him the ticket,”?a senior party leader said.
“I feel he should have been given the RS ticket for his long service to the party. In fact, he took cudgels against TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao single-handedly. Obviously, he is crest fallen," said a TD MLA.
Sources said Harikrishna too sought a ticket. Saying his Samaikhya Andhra demand was in tune with wishes of the people and that he did not work against the interests of the party. But Naidu informed him that it was too late.
