New Delhi: Jason Wilson scored twice as Delhi Waveriders began their campaign in the 2nd Hero Hockey India League on a rousing note with a 3-1 away win over Jaypee Punjab Warriors in Mohali on Saturday.
Man of the match Talwinder Singh completed the tally for Delhi, while young striker Affan Yousuf scored Punjab’s only goal. Punjab were left to rue their missed chances and were let down by a combination of poor marksmanship and some superb work by Delhi goalkeeper Hamish McGregor. Delhi, on the other hand, made good use of their chances.
