CPM rejects VS Achuthanandan stand on NaMo
Thiruvananthapuram: The CPM state secretariat on Saturday rejected Opposition Leader V.S. Achuthanandan’s stand on the entry of former NaMo Vichar Manch acivivists into the party.
The secretariat criticised Achuthanandan for publicly opposing the party stand on an issue which had been discussed and decided at the level of Kannur district committee. The secretariat decided to make the party stand clear after the state committee meeting on Sunday.
Even as the secretariat discussed the matter here, about 100 former NaMo Vichar Manch workers assembled at the party’s Kannur district committee office to discuss their induction into the CPM. CPM district secretary P. Jayarajan addressed the workers.
The meeting had the sanction of the state leadership of the party. The Opposition Leader on Friday came down heavily on the Kannur district leadership’s decision to induct the breakaway faction of the BJP into the CPM fold. “They all are Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi’s supporters.
It goes without saying who will benefit from an alliance with supporters of a fascist like Modi. People should think whether it is good to associate with those who all along carried Modi’s baggage and are now saying that they didn’t do so. One cannot trust the opportunistic activists of NaMo Vichar Manch,’’ Achuthanan-dan had pointed out .
