I love holidaying and enjoying the subtlety and peace, rather than visiting places like a mission. Switzerland is my favourite place outside India. It is almost like a home away from home. The best thing about the country is the snow. In my opinion, it is one of the cleanest countries in the world. Everything is organised there and people are very helpful and even bond with us quite well. It is the best adventurous spot where one can find young travellers. People lead a simple life there. I celebrated my last Christmas with my husband in Switzerland. Instead of a usual loud one, I witnessed a subtle and a very peaceful celebration there. Being a Mumbaikar, the most important thing I crave is ‘peace’. I felt it in Switzerland.
Rather than the busy roads and heavy traffic, I love empty roads and placid lakes. The villages in Switzerland promise a calm and peaceful atmosphere where one can hear far ringing church bells. The last time I went to Switzerland, it was winter there. I’d like to explore each season. What is astonishing is that one can enjoy both luxurious and regular life in Switzerland. I could see people leading a simple life in Swiss villages. Their lifestyle, food and clothes are amazing. No wonder, I could get Indian food in the Swiss villages! The saddest part is the glacier melting due to global warming.
Back in India, Goa is my all-time favourite holiday spot. The typical Goan fish curry and rice is my favourite food. I used to visit the beach city almost seven times a year. For me, travelling is all about meeting and connecting with people. It is a wonderful experience. I have friends in almost every country in the world. Dubai is another place that I like. Dubai is a city that changes every month. Whenever I visit Dubai, I stay at my friend’s place in Palm Jumeirah. It is a posh place where we can sip on wine and enjoy the sea breeze.
The next destination in my wishlist is Miami Beach. I would love to walk in Miami Beach wearing a bikini.
