Chennai: The state government on Friday ordered the release of 18 more Sri Lankan fishermen lodged in prison in Tamil Nadu.
Meanwhile, 71 Tamil Nadu fishermen, incarcerated in Sri Lankan prison, were released by court in Mannar and they will reach Tamil Nadu coast on Friday night along with 15 boats.
Similarly, 111 Nagapattinam fishermen will leave Trincomalee along with 15 boats on Saturday and reach Karaikkal coast soon.
The chief minister has directed minister for fisheries to receive the fishermen and send them to their native place at government expense.
