New Delhi: The autopsy report of Sunanda Pushkar has revealed “bite marks” on her left palm and “bruises” on the wrist.
The Delhi police crime branch, which officially took over the case on Thursday, will also probe the “poisoning” angle, which the report said was the cause of death.
The crime branch will examine the possibility of foul play and all possible angles homicide, suicide and accident.
SDM Alok Sharma, who directed the police to probe the death afresh, said that since this was a high-profile case, the forensic laboratory had been asked to submit the viscera report within a week.
It normally takes at least three months. The report will also reveal if there was a deliberate poisoning attempt and if she had consumed alcohol.
The crime branch will examine the CCTV footage of Hotel Leela Palace, Pushkar’s mobile records and also plans to quiz a servant who was present outside the hotel room where she was found dead.
The servant has so far been claiming that Ms Pushkar had “been sleeping since morning”.
Since Ms Pushkar’s husband, Union minister Shashi Tharoor, was at the AICC session all through the day, it will also probe the possibility of a third person having entered the room.
The crime branch will question the minister’s driver, who had talked of “frequent arguments” between the couple.
