MSP vs Rosary in final
KOCHI: MSP Higher Secondary School Malappuram and Rosary HSS Goa face-off in the final of Mar Athanasious Trophy inter-school football tournament in Aluva on Thursday. MSP had crushed HMY school Manjeri 4-1 en route to the final while a Stanford Olivera brace had given Rosary a thrilling 3-0 victory over Army School Bangalore in the semifinals.
BPCL cricket from today
KOCHI: Globstar CC Aluva and Chittoor CC Ernakulam play the inaugural match of phase-I of 27th BPCL cricket tournament here on Thursday. In the second match, Sharon CC and Muthoot ECC face off. There are 20 teams in the phase and the winner will qualify to the second stage. The phase-I final is scheduled for February 5, informed the organisers BPCL Kochi Refinery.
Kerala cops in quarters
KOzhikode: Hosts Kerala cops stormed into the quarterfinal of the all-India Police Basketball, defeating Andhra Pradesh 66-39 at Sree Kerala Varma College Thrissur on Wednesday. In other matches, Punjab drubbed Rajasthan 58-19, Haryana beat Chattisgarh 58-21 and CRPF got better of CISF 65-60, to enter the quarterfinal.
