Hosts Hyderabad finished second best at the sixth edition of the VHR all-India under-19 cricket tournament.

Hosts Hyderabad finished second best at the sixth edition of the VHR all-India under-19 cricket tournament, losing to Tamil Nadu by 26 runs in the final at Lal Bahadur Stadium.

In the summit clash, Tamil Nadu, taking first strike, were restricted to only 112 for the loss of nine wickets by Hyderabad. Shiva Ram top-scored for Tamil Nadu with 46 runs.

However, any hopes the hosts might have had of an easy chase were soon shattered when Tamil Nadu struck back. Within no time, Hyderabad were bundled out for 86 runs.

Earlier, in the semifinals, Tamil Nadu defeated Maharashtra by six wickets while Hyderabad got the better of Andhra by 51 runs.

After winning the toss, Andhra elected to field first and Hyderabad made full use of the opportunity, scoring a massive 164 for 7. Chaitanya and Vamshi top-scored with 33 each. In reply, Andhra were restricted to 113 for 6.
