DMK Rajya Sabha candidate files papers
Election Commission announces that the polling will be held on February 7.
Chennai: DMK nominee Tiruchy N. Siva on Tuesday filed his nomination papers for the Rajya Sabha elections.
Accompanied by party treasurer M.K. Stalin and senior leaders, including Duraimurugan, the two-time Rajya Sabha MP filed his nomination papers before Returning Officer A.M.P. Jamaludeen at the Secretariat here.
The terms of six RS MPs, two each from Congress and DMK, one from AIADMK and CPI-M will end by April 2, 2014.
The EC has announced that polling will be held on February 7, if necessary.
Meanwhile, Stalin who invited MMK leaders personally for the party’s state conference in February reiterated to mediapersons that MMK and VCK leaders have already urged DMDK leader to join the alliance and Kalaignar had welcomed it.
