Dad dies after incident; cops wait for son to recover to know truth.

Nellore: In a bizarre incident, two passengers of the Puri-Tirupati Express died after being pushed out of the train near Gudur on Tuesday afternoon.

According to available information, an unidentified person pushed two passengers out of the train, and a little later was himself pushed out and died.

One of the two passengers he had allegedly pushed out also succumbed to his injuries.

S.K. Rehman, 38, and his son Samdhani Basha, carpenters by profession, boarded the train at Tenali to go to Renigunta en route to Proddutur in Kadapa district for some work.

As the train was passing through Kondagunta station near Gudur, the unidentified person allegedly pushed the two men out of the train.

Passengers who saw what had happened called 108 ambulance service and pulled the chain to halt the train. Rehman succumbed to his injuries during treatment at the government hospital in Gudur.

This was not the end of the bizarre incident. About a kilometre after Kondagunta station, the passengers in the train came to know who had pushed the father and son, and they turned on the man and pushed him out. He, too, died of his injuries.

Railway police inspector M. Vijayakumar said that some passengers told him that the unidentified man was killed when he was trying to alight from the train after other passengers identified him as the culprit in the first incident.

He said that there were several loose ends and the police is waiting for Samdhani Basha to recover sufficiently to tell them what happened.
