Samaikya rally to hit traffic today

Police permit 10,000 people to gather at Dharna Chowk at Indira Park.

Hyderabad: The Central Zone police on Tuesday granted conditional permission to the APNGOs to hold their ‘Chalo Hyderabad’ dharna here on Wednesday.

The police has given permission for 10,000 people to gather at Dharna Chowk, Indira Park.

Central Zone DCP Kamalasan Reddy warned that the participants must not enter the main roads or go towards the Assembly.

“The permission is from 11 am to 5 pm, and the time limit should not be violated,” he said.

City vehiclists may have a hard time as the police has ordered a string of traffic restrictions in the roads leading to the Assembly.

Hundreds of representatives of APNGOs from Seemandhra have reportedly come to the city on Tuesday for the rally. Reports said non-gazetted officers from Nellore, Chittoor and Visakhapatnam are flocking the city.

“We are deploying a large police force around Indira Park and all the main roads. Paramilitary forces will also be deployed in order to ensure peace,” said a senior police officer.

Kamalasan Reddy said that if there was any disturbances, permission to the rally will be cancelled immediately.

Traffic curbs from 6 am today

Hyderabad: Central Zone DCP Kamalasan Reddy said that “as per the Supreme Court judgement, organisers will be held responsible if protesters damage public property or indulge in violence.”

The DCP said that the participants must not make provocative speeches or shout slogans hurting sentiments of others.

“The participants should not carry swords, spears, bludgeons, guns, knives, lathis including stones, pebbles and other offensive weapons and inflammatory material,” he said.

Meanwhile, according to reports, a large number of government employees and protagonists from several parts of the state left for Hyderabad on Tuesday night to attend the protest.

In Vijayawada, TD leader Kesineni Nani arranged for more than 100 buses for activists to go to Hyderabad.

Vehicles from Nirankari will not be allowed to proceed to Ravindra Bharati and will be diverted at Old PS Saifabad/Dwaraka towards Iqbal Minar Junction and Masab Tank.

Traffic from Nampally to Assembly will be diverted at AR Petrol Pump towards BJR statue-Basheebagh-Liberty-Ambedkar Statue-Telugu Talli statue.

Traffic from Ambedkar statue to I-T Lane will be diverted at Telugu Talli Junction to Ambedkar Statue.

Traffic coming from Liberty-GHMC office and from More Medical Hall towards Adarshnagar will be diverted at Crystal Lane towards Telugu Talli Junction.

Traffic from Old MLA Quarters and King Koti proceeding towards Old PCR will be diverted at Basheerbagh towards Liberty or BJR statue.

Traffic from Basheerbagh will not be allowed towards AR Petrol Pump and will be diverted at BJR statue towards GPO Abids.

Both sides of the road from Old PCR to Basheerbagh will be closed to vehicular traffic. Roads between Ashoknagar Crossroads to Kattamaisamma junction will be closed.

RTC services: Buses will be permitted up to the outer cordon bus stops like JBS, MGBS, Mehdipatnam and Lingampally.

NTR Stadium, Necklace Road, Quli Qutb Shah Stadiumm CAR Headquarters, Railway Ground (RRC, Secunderabad).
