Booklovers get chance to design covers
Hyderabad: The notion of not judging a book by its cover has become outdated these days, at least in the literal sense.
Most of us do judge a book by it’s cover and why not? The quirky one liners and a pool of creative and innovative ideas integrated on a cover can effectively garner all the necessary attention of a reader.
The Hyderabad Literary Festival is thus giving Hyderabadi bookworms a chance to showcase their own ideas of a book cover.
Called “My Book-My Cover”, the festival is organising a book-cover designing event for enthusiasts to pick their favourite books and re-design the covers.
The shortlisted designs will be displayed along with the best and most interesting cover designs during the three-day Hyderabad Literary Festival in the city.
“The creative work put into designing the cover is always neglected and to precisely bring this segment into focus, we have started this particular event. The event is open to all formats and should be a digital A4 size entry with a resolution of 300 dpi. There are no restrictions on what book one chooses. One can register on the HLF official website,” informed Professor T. Vijay Kumar, director, Hyderabad Literary Festival.
This year, Hyderabad Literary Festival, apart from Irish authors, will play host to other renowned authors and poets from across the globe.
Visiting the fest all the way from Singapore are Professor Edwin Thumboo of Gods Can Die fame, Meira Chand and Colin Cheong, German authors Peter Pannke, Christopher Kloeble and Saskya Jain and USA-based Bill Wolak.
