Pranjala advances at ITF tournament

Hyderabad: Promising tennis player from Hyderabad Yadlapalli Pranjala advanced to the second round of the International Tennis Federtion Juniors Grade III tournament, being played in Kolkata, on Monday.

After playing at two back-to-back hard court ITF tournaments over the last two weeks, Pranjala shifted to the clay court for this event.

In the first round, Pranjala faced a little difficulty before defeating Chinese Taipei’s Yu-Ting Hsieh 6-1, 3-6, 6-1.

After winning the first set 6-1, Pranjala was outplayed by Yu-Ting 3-6 in the second. In the decider, Pranjala regrouped and played some blistering forehand winners to clinch the set 6-1 and with it, the match.
