Bhavan’s, Sainikpuri, were crowned champions at the inter-college weightlifting championships for men, organised by Osmania University at the Lal Bahadur Stadium in Hyderabad.
M.R. Chaithanya of Bhavan’s was adjudged the best weightlifter. Chaithanya, who competed in the 105kg category, lifted 110kg in snatch and 140kg in clean & jerk for a total of 250kg and won the gold medal.
R. Ganesh Yadhav, from Suprabhath College of Engineering, was a distant second with 165 kg (65+100) and Ajay Singh of Bhavan’s finished third with 142.5 kg (67.5+75).
