Kejriwal signs official files, documents at dharna site; may hold Cabinet meet

Delhi CM works at dharna site; AAP cabinet meeting likely to be held there Tuesday.

New Delhi: Amid slogans of 'inquilab zindabad' by his supporters, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal signed several official papers and files on Monday at the site of his sit-in protest near Rail Bhawan here.

According to Delhi government sources, three to four cartons of files were taken to the dharna site from Delhi Secretariat to avert hampering of government functining.

According to officials, a cabinet meeting is scheduled for on Monday and there are possibilites that it will be held at the dharna site.

In that case, the chief secretary, along with other senior officials, will go to the dharna site to attend the meeting. Asked if a cabinet meeting is possible in the open, they said "of course, why not? It is just that all us have to be there and we don't think there are any issues."

Kejriwal on Monday mounted an unprecedented confrontation with the Centre and began a dharna demanding suspension of some Delhi police officials for alleged dereliction of duty.

The Centre also toughened its stand rejecting the demand for immediate action saying anything can be done only after a proper inquiry which was on. Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde also ruled out Delhi Police coming under the control of Delhi government.
