Hyderabad: Hyderabad girl Yadlapalli Pranjala bowed out of the ITF Juniors Grade II Tennis tournament being held at the RK Khanna Tennis Complex in New Delhi on Friday.
In the semifinals, top seed Pranjala lost to China’s Zhanlan Wei 6-4, 3-6, 2-6.
Pranjala started the match ion a positive note, racing to a 5-2 lead in the first set, before overcoming a fight back by Wei to win it 6-4. In the second set, the players were level at 3-3, when the Wei upped her ante to wrap up the set.
The Chinese player continued her resurgence as an exhausted Pranjala surrendered the third set 2-6.
