IPL commission seeks Dada's views
Mumbai: The Indian Premier League probe committee has sought inputs from former India captain Sourav Ganguly, it is learnt. Sources close to Ganguly said he had recommended a few steps on how malpractices, if existed in the game, could be stopped.
The Supreme Court appointed committee had been keen to seek Ganguly’s views as he has participated in the IPL. The three-member committee also met Cricket Association of Bengal president Jagmohan Dalmiya, commentator Kishore Bhimani, cricket historian Boria Mazumdar and Aditya Verma, the Bihar Cricket Association representative who has strong reservations over Gurunath Meiyappan’s role in the IPL. The probe committee is headed by retired justice Mukul Mudgal. Senior lawyer and additional solicitor general N. Nagehswar Rao and Assam Cricket Association member Nilay Dutta are the other members of the panel.
After this week’s meeting in Kolkata, the probe committee’s last destination is believed to be Bengaluru where Anil Kumble and Rahul Dravid are set to be interviewed.
A high ranking police officer is also likely to be interviewed there before the committee finally submits its report to the Supreme Court.
