Goundamani, the top comedian who ruled K’town from mid 80s to the early 2000’s is back after a long hiatus. The humour specialist known for his healthy comedy returns as a hero in a film titled '49 O'. Directed by Arokiya Dass, a former associate of Gautham Menon, the movie is touted to be a satirical comedy about the present situation of Indian farmers. The ace comedian is said to play a farmer. Recently a song sequence was canned in locations in and around Thanjavur with Goundamani and dancers. “His energy was remarkable”, commented a unit hand. “It was an amazing experience to work with a stalwart like Goundamani sir, and his professionalism is unmatched. We all knew his timing of dialogues was perfect and we realised his timing on punctuality is equally matched. His one liners in this film will be the trend setters for the near future, 49 O is not a political film but an out and out humor filled sensible film,” the director claims.
