Kodiyeri Balakrishnan demands probe on Shashi Tharoor
Thiruvananthapuram: CPM politburo member Kodiyeri Balakrishnan on Thursday said the allegations against Union Minister of State for HRD Shashi Tharoor were quite serious in nature and needs to be probed thoroughly.
He told mediapersons here that Sunanda Pushkar's allegation that Mehr Tarar with whom Tharoor has an alleged relationship was an ISI agent, cannot be taken lightly. The matter should be probed by central intelligence agencies to reach the bottom of the truth.
In a separate statement, CPI national executive member C Divakaran on Thursday demanded Tharoor's arrest on the charges of sedition.
Divakaran said Sunanda's charges were startling. In her interview to a Delhi based newspaper, Sunanda revealed that she was planning separation from her husband because of his liaison with Tarar.
Even though she withdrew her earlier statement and the couple even issued a joint statement that they would not separate, all these developments have raised suspicion.
