Prem Nazeer award for VR Krishna Iyer
Kochi: It was one of the most glittering evenings in the Durbar Hall Ground with a host of artistes and celebrities, led by Mammootty, present.
The second Prem Nazir International Award was presented to Justice V R Krishna Iyer by Mammootty at the function organized on Thursday evening to remember the legendary actor on his 25th death anniversary. The award ceremony was inaugurated by actor-director Balachandra Menon.
Various cultural events including ‘Sangamam’, the light and sound show by Soorya Krishnamoorthy, was also held as part of the event. The show which had music and dance also paid tribute to playback legend Muhammed Rafi by culling from his hits.
The colourful show which had a host of trained artistes from the Soorya troupe also highlighted the theme of India’s unity in diversity. The Bharatanatyam performance by the troupe from Chennai, a Kathak show by the troupe from Delhi and other traditional dance forms by artistes from various parts of the nation to the accompaniment of drum beats added glitter to Sangamam.
