Indian cardinal fired from Vatican panel

Indian Cardinal Telesphore Toppo along with three others were sacked from a Vatican Bank pannel by Pope Francis.

Vatican: Indian Cardinal  Telesphore Toppo  along with three others were sacked from a Vatican Bank pannel by Pope Francis on Wednesday, according to media reports.

He only retained  Cardinal Jean-Louis Tauran, head of the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue.

 

All the cardinals sacked were appointed by Pope Benedict XVI made just 12 days before he resigned and all the cardinals had just completed one year out of their five-year term.

Cardinal Toppo is s a Cardinal-Archbishop of Ranchi in the Roman Catholic Church. He was ord-ained a priest on 3 May 1969 by Bishop Franz von Streng. Toppo has also headed several Indian chapters of the Vatican.
