Known for grilling the guests on his popular chat show, Karan Johar has gained quite a reputation of asking questions of the controversial sort and putting actors “on the spot”. In spite of this, most B-towners would still vie for an invitation to Koffee With Karan.
However, it seems that Akshay Kumar wasn’t among them — not until now, at least. Akshay recently talked to Karan about why he’s stayed away from the show in its previous seasons.
“When you come on this show, you’re asked controversial questions that no actor would want to answer. I don’t like being grilled. No one wants to get into their colleagues’ bad books by answering questions that might hurt somebody’s feelings. I’d rather meet you socially, or meet you at my house. You are a really good friend of my wife. I would rather do that, than come on your show, in front of 13 cameras and say nasty things about my colleagues and create a controversy. Thanks to your show, actors are always fighting with each other and that invariably grabs headlines. I avoided getting into such hassles,” said Akshay.
Guess Karan got more straight talk than he’d bargained for.
