Vizag will become cricket hub: T Subbarami Reddy
Visakhapatnam: The stylish former Test Cricketer V.V.S. Laxman on Wednesday inaugurated T Subbarami Reddy (TSR) Cricket Clubs Federation, Visakhapatnam, which was formed by Rajya Sabha member and senior Congress leader T. Subbarami Reddy.
With an aim to create a new genre of cricketers in Vizag city, TSR formed 1,400 cricket clubs in the city. Speaking on the occasion, Laxman appealed to TSR to take some more steps such as appointment noted coaches and provide infrastructure for all the cricket clubs to produce young talented cricketers.
Stating that cricket gave him a lot of fame and everything in life, Laxman asked the young cricketers to play the game with dedication and passion. “My aim is to make Vizag city a cricket hub of Andhra Pradesh on the lines of Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru and other metro cities.
The TSR Cricket Clubs Federation could train the young cricketers to achieve higher levels,” said T. Subbarami Reddy to the cheers of hundreds of young cricketers at Kalabharati auditorium, where the inauguration of the Federation took place.
Dr Reddy also assured to appoint coaches and provide advanced infrastructure to all the clubs to fulfil his dream.
Andhra Cricket Association president D.V. Subba Rao, Visakhapatnam District Cricket Association president P. Vishnukumar Raju, cine comedian K. Brahmanandam and a few other local political leaders praised TSR for his relentless services to Vizag.
On this occasion, Laxman was felicitated by TSR and others and Laxman presented TSR Cricket Club Awards to Vizag cricketers V. Sneha Deepti, P.A.V.N. Raju and others.
