Bezawada decks up for CM’s party
Vijayawada: Vijayawada city is likely to emerge as a political capital again as Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy is said to be launching his new party from here. MP Lagadapati Rajagopal will be playing a key role in the new party.
Speculations were rife this Sankranti on such a possibility, owing to a large number of hoardings suddenly put up at important junctions in the city. However, confusion prevailed over who put up the banners. It is assumed that a leading advertiser set up those banners.
The ones with Chief Minister’s slogans “Samaikyandhra Mana Vidhanam, Jai Samaikyandhra mana Ninadam”?with photos of Telugu talli, Potti Sriramulu and Burgula Ramakrishna Rao are seen with Samaikyandhra agitation photographs in the background and two colours including purple and green reflecting the new party flag.
In addition, publicity vans with the same banners are seen moving at several places in the city.
Two such vans are parked in RTC bus stand and security at the bus stand revealed that the vehicles were parked there a day before.
It is said the publicity vans are getting ready in the city and moving to other areas of the state.
A senior party leader, preferring not to be identified, said appearance of banners of Samaikyandhra is nothing but ground work for Chief Minister’s new party and the MP is going to take a lead in the party.
Though the MP was busy with the funeral ceremony of his father in Guntur, sources close to him revealed that there may be changes and the MP is yet to take a decision.
However, they did not rule out the possibility of the MP joining the new party.
Meanwhile, some MLAs and hardcore party cadre are worried about their political future with the present vacuum created in Congress in Seemandhra region with state bifurcation issue. While some leaders are opting for YSR Congress some others are trying for TD.
Commenting on the Samaikyandhra banners, Telugu Desam leader Ch. Anjaneyulu said the publicity on Chief Minister’s new party is nothing but a political drama of the Congress as the party has lost confidence of the people. He said the people are clear about their decision and the TD would get support in the coming elections.
Meanwhile, similar flex boards have also appeared overnight in various parts of Ongole town of Prakasam district and Madanapalle town in Chittoor district.
