It appears that Tollywood actress Sanjjanaa is on the verge of filing a police complaint against a family friend following the latter’s refusal to repay a loan of Rs 13.5 lakh that he had taken from the actress two years ago.
Sanjjanaa had reportedly lent her family friend Rajiv Malhotra and his son Prashanth a sum of Rs 13.5 lakh in 2012. “Rajiv is nearly my father’s age; and our families have known each other for a long time. They are very well-off and live in a huge house in Dollars Colony. But he came to me and begged for the money, so I gave him the loan. However, ever since, whenever I have contacted him to ask about the repayment, he has been making excuses. He recently wrote me a cheque for the full amount, but it bounced. When I called him after that, he threatened to have us killed if we called or bothered him again,” the actress told Deccan Chronicle.
Rajiv Malhotra is reportedly into the timber business. “Because I appeared in a television programme, Rajiv presumes that I have earned enough and the loan need not be repaid. I have not filed a complaint with the police yet, because we are trying to sort this out amicably, but I will resort to taking police action in the next few days unless he relents and returns my money,” Sanjjanaa added.
