Pinarayi Vijayan wants action against Rahul Gandhi

Rahul Gandhi is in trouble for climbing atop a police vehicle during the Yuva Kerala Yathra.

Thiruvananthapuram: CPM state secretary Pinarayi Vijayan on Tuesday hit out at Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi for climbing atop a police vehicle during the Yuva Kerala Yathra and allegedly flouting the Motor Vehicles Act.

Replying to reporters’ questions, Vijayan sought to know who gave permission to Rahul Gandhi to climb on the vehicle.

The Congress vice-president, who is being projected as the prime ministerial candidate of the party, was acting like a ‘clown,’ he said. Will the Transport Commissioner register a case against him? he asked.

Dr Thomas Isaac MLA demanded action against the police personnel in whose presence Rahul Gandhi violated the MV Act. He said there was resentment among police officials regarding the blatant breach of security and that too in the presence of Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala.

Kerala Congress leader George Sebastian and BJP leader V.V. Rajesh also demanded registration of a case against Rahul Gandhi.
