Dhruva is in the ‘groovah’

The Sarja clan is always ready with a word of advise as Dhruva Sarja takes on more meaty roles.

He is just a film old in Sandalwood and is already a heart throb for his fans. Dhruva Sarja’s fan following, especially the fairer sex is on the rise ever since 'Addhuri', where he acted opposite the talented Radhika Pandit, became a huge hit. The onscreen hit-couple is back again in 'Bahaddur'. The actor, who hails from the prestigious ‘Sarja’ family is feeling good about the project that is almost complete.

Speaking about 'Bahaddur', Dhruva Sarja says, “It is based on a true love story packed with all the commercial elements, including unique fighting scenes. It is a romantic thriller.?As it is based on a real subject, the audience will get to see a different Sarja when compared to 'Addhuri'. His first film almost took two years to release. Dhruva points out that he believes in giving a 100 per cent to the project before he commits to another one.

“In fact, for Bahaddur, though I am paired alongside Radhika Pandit, we both took at least three months to prepare for our roles — learning the required mannerisms, body language and dialogue delivery,” says Dhruva.

When asked about whether his family members — brother Chiranjeevi Sarja, who is a busy actor in Sandalwood and uncle Arjun Sarja, the real action king of Tamil and Telugu films (who is most remembered for his classic role in Gentleman) advise him about acting and the kind of films he should be doing, Dhruva says, “My brother and uncle play an important role, as they advise me all the time over the selection of films, and later give their opinion on my role.”

He also says that since the days of his grandfather, there has been a strict rule that no one discusses films when together as a family, especially at home. “We hardly talk about films while at home. As far as I remember, films have never been a topic at home. Even if we do discuss it, the maximum it could last is for 10 minutes.”

With his brother Chiranjeevi Sarja is already making it big in Sandalwood with a series of films up for release including Chandralekha starring alongside Shanvi Srivastav, and his uncle Arjun Sarja, who has his own busy schedule in Sandalwood and the neighbouring industries, Dhruva feels that the three Sarjas could all soon be seen acting together in a Kannada film.

Insofar as Bahaddur is concerned, apart from shooting the songs, it is in the final stages and Dhruva feels, “There are really unique fight sequences choreographed by Ravi Verma, who is busy in Bollywood now. I am also doing Boxing and Kung Fu stunts. I hope the audience likes it.”

The actor who is down with a bout of fever for the past few days, has not missed a single day of his fitness regime. A fitness freak, Dhruva spends at least an hour daily at the gym, and while shooting, he just does the basics, obviously inspired by his Action King uncle!
