Ponnam Prabhakar lashes out at Vundavalli
Karimnagar: Taking exception to Rajahmundry MP Vundavalli Arun Kumar’s remarks against Union minister S. Jaipal Reddy, who had termed Seemandhra leaders as unfit people, Karimnagar MP Ponnam Prabhakar said no elected representative from Seemandhra had the moral right to criticise Union minister Jaipal Reddy who had served people as an elected representative for 50 years.
Ponnam was speaking to mediapersons here on Monday. Reiterating the remarks of Jaipal Reddy, Ponnam lamented that APNGOs president Ashok Babu and TDP legislature leader Devineni Uma, though born in an area where great leaders like Tanguturi Prakasam and Potti Sriramulu were born, had no extraordinary capabilities like them.
He challenged Vundavalli to participate in an open debate over Telangana. Lashing out at Vundavalli, Ponnam alleged that the former rose to the position of an MP, from a simple translator, after befriending former Chief Minister late Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy.
He wanted other legislators also who had condemned Jaipal Reddy’s remarks to tender apology to the union minister. “Setting copies of T-Bill afire is equivalent to insulting the president of India and democracy,” he added.
