BJP targets 300 LS seats
Nellore: Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) target in the ensuing election is to win 300 Parliament seats and weaken Congress and the parties backing Congress in the country. BJP senior leader M. Venkaiah Naidu has revealed this while speaking to media persons at the BJP office here on Monday.
He said that they did not take any decision on alliance with any party in AP and it will be taken at an appropriate time without any secrecy. Naidu has alleged that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has committed a historical blunder by accepting Congress support to form the government in Delhi and the move has affected the credibility of the party.
“AAP had not minced any words while attacking Congress during electioneering and it even went to the extent of stating that it will send all corrupt Congress leaders to jail within 15 days after coming to power.
Surprisingly, AAP joined hands with the Congress and the latter was also happy since there is no jail threat anymore. Congress slogan “Hath... Aam Aadmi Ke Saath has been changed now, as Hath Aam Aadmi ‘Party’ Ke Saath”, Venkaiah Naidu quipped.
He ruled out any threat from AAP for BJP chances to return to power in the Centre while maintaining that Narendra Modi wave has been prevailing across the nation.
He lambasted Congress leaders for mudslinging on Modi without any substance while attributing their approach to political bankruptcy.
“There is no equal leader in Congress to measure up to the clean and efficient Modi. Unable to project anyone as their leader, the party is resorting to misinformation. It is a practice to Congress to target those opposing the party and activate CBI to file cases against them,” Venkaiah Naidu alleged giving a long list of leaders who tasted the wrath of Congress for opposing it.
He took a dig on Congress for ordering a probe into Snooping case in Gujarat ignoring major scams such as Bofors, Coalgate, Telecom, Imports/Exports, Adarsh and Augusta Helicopters among scores of others. The BJP will decide its strategy for ensuing elections during its national council meet scheduled between January 16 and 19 at New Delhi.
