Though the fans of the two superstars Ilayathalapathy Vijay and Thala Ajith clash quite often, especially when their movies are released around the same time, the actors seem to share a warm camaraderie. This was proved once again when Ilayathalapathy Vijay praised his contemporary Ajith at the success meet of his recent Pongal offering, 'Jilla'.
“I heard that 'Veeram', which was released along with 'Jilla', is doing well. I congratulate Ajith, director Siva and the entire team of 'Veeram'. Looks like this Pongal seems to be a healthy one in terms of films released,” Vijay said amidst thunderous applause.
Vijay thanked his fans, saying he was touched by their gesture of putting up posters and decorating the theatres in the early hours of a cold morning on January 10. “More than ‘success meet’, this one is to thank my fans who gave a massive opening for the film,” he added.
He also thanked his producer R.B. Choudhary, director Neason, actors Soori and Mahat and composer Imman for adding strength to the movie with his music. Many distributors who were present at the event were visibly pleased. They were unanimous in their agreement on the fact that 'Jilla' was one of the biggest grossers in recent times.
